(2009) New realities, Dordrecht, Springer.
Numerous artists, theorists, and philosophers have speculated about the potential applications of immersive computer mediation technologies for exploring the nature of human consciousness. (1993, p. 128) hoped that the perceptual feedback enabled by so-called virtual reality interfaces could "shed new light on classical metaphysics." (2002) proclaimed that the development of new technologies for prosthetically amplifying perception constituted "a whole new human faculty" that enables the growth of a new "culture of consciousness."
